The aim of this seminar was to raise the knowledge about the role of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), an African Union strategic framework for pan-African socio-economic development.

Adopted in Lusaka in July 2001 during the 37th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the OAU, NEPAD, created from the merger of the Millennium Action Plan and the Omega Plan, will be 10 years old in July 2011.
