The core values of the NEPAD Energy Sector are those set forth in “The New Political Will of African Leaders”. The NEPAD Energy Sector Agenda is based on national and regional priorities and development that must be prepared through participatory processes involving the people. It is the value of the NEPAD Energy Sector that it is the role of African leaders to lead the processes of implementation on behalf of their people.
The Energy Sector focuses on the following:
• Regional power systems initiatives
• Gas/oil transmission initiatives
• Development of hydropower potential in Africa
