Concerning energy, the priority areas of focus in the period of this Business Plan will include biofuel energy; solar thermal power generation; cross border energy trade; and communication mechanisms between main energy stakeholders. In particular, NPCA will support the development and implementation of power generation utilizing natural gases and coal bed methane. It will also support geothermal power generation in East Africa. In addition, NPCA will work on the improvement of tariffs and regulations to facilitate and speed up cross border energy trade.
