In the area of water, NPCA will seek to strengthen existing water governance institutions and to attract the private sector to water and sanitation delivery services. It will continue to promote policies and strategies for increased water storage capacities for national and regional communities as recommended in the Africa Infrastructure Country Diagnostic (AICD) studies. It will also foster partnerships for managing shared water courses under the NEPAD programme for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), at the national and regional level, with the view to ensuring effective sharing of benefits among countries. In addition, NPCA will work with prospective partners to support the re-building of capacity of the water sub-sector.
