The Skills Initiative for Africa programme will be launched in Yaoundé, Cameroon on Friday, 7 April 2017.
The launch is being organised by the NEPAD Agency, in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training. It will be opened by the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, His Excellency, Mr Zacharie Perevet.
The Skills Initiative for Africa programme aims to raise the continent’s capacity and ability to create new employment and economic opportunities for Africa’s young populations. It also offers opportunities to youths to build desired skill capabilities and enhance their employability in a globally competitive and rapidly modernising labour market.
The programme is being implemented in initial five African countries: Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Tunisia.
