The NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA).

Under the supervision of the Head of RIITP of the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency or his/her delegate, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be  responsible for the NEPAD Agency’s mandate to monitor, evaluate and report on the implementation progress of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa’s-Priority Action Plan (PIDA-PAP) for NEPAD Agency

Required Skills and Competencies

  1. Profound experience in monitoring and evaluating project implementation progress.
  2. Excellent technical competence in project/programme implementation and reporting on results and outcomes.
  3. Experience and knowledge of public sector institutions in Africa, especially African Union, Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and the NEPAD Agency.
  4. Proven data collection, organization, analysis and reporting skills.
  5. Excellent oral, writing and editing skills.
  6. High level of accuracy, attention to detail and thoroughness.
  7. Ability to work under minimal supervision, be proactive, initiative and with sound judgment.
  8. High level of integrity and accountability, flexible approaches to work coupled with enthusiasm, commitment and energetic.
  9. Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals and institutions.
  10. Creative thinking, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  11.  Maintain confidentiality at the highest level at all times.
  12. Sound analytical skills.
  13. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  14. Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment.
  15. Working experience in the field of infrastructure is an advantage

Education and Experience:

At least Bachelor’s degree (Hons.) from a recognized University (BA/BSc/BComm etc.) in the field of business administration, economics, development studies, engineering or related field. Working experience in international public sector institutions in Africa, especially African Union, NEPAD Agency and Regional Economic Communities. Demonstrated commitment to African development; field experience on the continent and/or in other developing countries is an added advantage. Citizen of an AU member country or an African in the Diaspora

Remuneration: Indicative basic salary of US$ 27,311.00 per annum plus other entitlements e.g. Post Adjustment (57% of basic salary), Housing Allowance (US$ 21,196, 80) and Gratuity (15% of gross salary), in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to locally recruited staff of the African Union.
