CENTRAL AFRICA MEETING:
6-8 November 2012, Kinshasa, DRC
APDev Central Africa Regional Post-Busan and Post-Busan MDGs Consultations
African countries under the leadership of the African Union Commission and the NEPAD Agency through the Africa Platform participated actively in the 4th High Level Forum in Busan in September 2011, presenting, for the first time, a common African position to the HLF4 stating the continents priorities for development effectiveness.
The Busan Partnership Agreement constitutes a breach on how aid should play a catalytic role in the development through advancing investment more in the productive sectors of the economy. The commitment by all countries calls for mainstreaming key development issues, mainly, Capacity Development, Financing for Development and South-South cooperation.
The post-2015 agenda process has officially started. Under the auspices of the APDev, the AUC and NEPAD with developing partners are starting regional consultations that will involve countries to bring the MDGs effect debate to the wider public including affording the opportunity to shape the agenda.
