Event Objectives
This seminar, organized in light of the Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, to be held in Istanbul from 9 to 13 May 2011, will be an occasion to present to the New York diplomatic community and broader audience the achievements of the cooperative efforts among Least Developed Countries and explore the role that migration can play in the new development framework expected to be adopted in Istanbul.

Methodology
Structured as a face to face event, this seminar will benefit of the contribution of renowned experts from governments, the United Nations system, the International Organization for Migration, civil society and academia. Following the presentations, participants will have the opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions with the speakers.
Targeted Audience
The seminar is designed for members of permanent missions to the United Nations in New York, who work on migration and development issues. Representatives of governments, international organizations, the United Nations system, civil society and the private sector with academic or professional interest in the topic are also encouraged to participate.
