Elaboration of a NPCA Expanded Agribusiness and Trade Promotion Programme (NEATP)

Participants

The formulation of the NEATP Programme shall be guided by broader stakeholder’s consultation that will include key CAADP implementation partners including contribution from the NPCA colleagues  involved in capacity development, infrastructure, science and technology within the Programme Implementation and Coordination Directorate (PICD) to explore the views on programme orientation and prioritization; as well as agribusiness and trade experts of relevant regional and continental agencies like the RECs, PANAC, NEPAD Business Foundation, the continental farmer organisation (PAFO) and national representatives of the private sector. 

Objectives

1. Develop the cornerstones of the NEATP, taking into consideration ongoing continental and regional initiatives to advance trade related dimension of CAADP implementation with ongoing CAADP Pillar 2 initiatives, and highlighting the priority areas where additional support and interventions will be required to be provided under this programme to advance the operationalization of CAADP national and regional compacts.
2. Clarify the role of NPCA vis-à-vis other regional and continental agencies
3. Identify resource requirement for programme implementation and if possible make proposal on potential sources of funding.
