Launch of the Rural Futures Initiative

The NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NEPAD Agency), the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) are launching Rural Futures - an initial two year action-oriented effort to stimulate participation, consensus, and investment around rural transformation as the basis for long-term sustainable national development and pro-poor economic growth across the continent.

Rural Futures contemplates an ever-enlarging engagement of partners and stakeholders. In this regard, the Seventh African Development Forum (ADF – VII) constitutes an ideal platform for such an engagement.
