17th AU Summit

The 17^th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) is scheduled to take place from 23 June to 1^st July 2011 in Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea. Holding under the theme: “Accelerating Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Development”, the 17^th Ordinary Session of the Summit of the African Union will officially kick off on Thursday 23 June 2011, with the 22nd Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC).  

Below is a list of all NEPAD related events at the AU Summit:

1. 42nd Session of the NEPAD Steering Committee

Date: 25 June 2011 Time: 10:00am – 18:00am Venue: Sipopo Conference Centre Malabo, Equatorial Guinea (The Steering Committe is not open for the media)

2. 25th Session of the NEPAD Heads of State & Government Orientation Committee

Date: 29 June 2011 Time: (Opening Session) 10:00am – 12:00am Venue: Sipopo Conference Centre Malabo, Equatorial Guinea

Programme: Special Session on NEPAD's 10th Anniversary and discussion topic "Mobilising domestic resources for NEPAD implementation"

3. Press Briefing Dr. Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, CEO of the NEPAD Agency

Date: 29 June 2011 Time: 15:00pm – 15:30pm Venue: to be announced, Malabo, Equatorial Guinea

Topic: Progress in the implementation of the NEPAD Programme and the 10th Anniversary of NEPAD

4. NEPAD Agency exhibition

Date: daily Venue: Sipopo Conference Centre Malabo, Equatorial Guinea
