Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL)

The NEPAD Energy Programme implements the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative in Africa. SE4ALL was launched in September 2011 with the aim of achieving three main goals by 2030: providing universal access to modern energy services; doubling the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency; and doubling the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix.

The SE4ALL Hub for Africa was founded by the African Union Commission (AUC), the NEPAD Agency, African Development Bank (AfDB) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to facilitate the implementation of the SE4ALL initiative on the continent. The Secretariat is hosted at the AfD.. The hub promotes African ownership, inclusiveness and a comprehensive approach to the initiative’s implementation, mandated by the resolution of the Conference of Energy Ministers of Africa in November 2012.
