PRESS RELEASE N05/ 2nd AFRICA-INDIA FORUM SUMMIT
Shared Vision at the Center of Second Africa- India Forum Summit
Addis Ababa, 19 May 2011 – Activities ahead of the Second Africa-India Forum Summit (AIFS II) will be launched tomorrow 20 May 2011 at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The event, which will bring together participants from India, Africa and partner organizations, will focus on the theme:« Enhancing partnership shared vision ».
The Summit will take place on 24 and 25 May 2011, in the presence of the Chairperson of the African Union (AU), Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasago, President of Equatorial Guinea; the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Dr. Jean Ping; the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh; the Deputy Chairperson of the AUC, Mr. Erastus Mwencha and the African Union Commissioners.
The Inauguration of a Trade Exhibition will kick off activities marking the 2nd Africa-India Forum Summit on 20 May 2011, at 11:00 in the Addis Ababa, Millennium Hall. Participants will include: representatives from the AU Commission and the Indian and Ethiopian Ministers of Commerce and Industry.
The Summit will be preceded by several other events such as the meeting of Senior Officials from 20-21 May 2011, followed by the Trade Ministers Meeting on 21 May beginning at 11 am. in the plenary Hall of the AUC Conference Center.
A press Conference will hold at the end of the Ministers Meeting at 13:00On the other hand, a Business Conclave grouping African and Indian Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) is scheduled to hold on 21 May starting at 15:00.
Meanwhile, a joint Press Conference will close the 2nd Africa-India Forum Summit on 25 May 2011, from 1215-1300 hrs in Committee Room 1 at the AU Conference Center.
