What's on this page?
On this page of the website, you'll find information on our work under TerrAfrica. This includes achievements so far, what's happening in this area and what progress has been made.
What is the TerrAfrica Programme?
TerrAfrica is a regional initiative to improve land management. The programme works to improve coordination between the governments of Sub-Saharan Africa, the international development community and other global and regional stakeholders. The programme was launched in 2005 and it supports the objectives of NEPAD's Environment Initiative.
What's happening in the Programme?
TerrAfrica's partners are assisting Sub-Saharan African countries in developing their Country Sustainable Land Management Investment frameworks (CSIF), with the support of TerrAfrica partners.
What progress has been made so far?
Uganda, Ghana, Niger, Ethiopia and Mauritania have completed their investment frameworks and are implementing these. Ethiopia is already quite advanced in implementing this framework. Other countries such as Mali, Senegal, Niger, Kenya and Nigeria are finalising their investment frameworks and several others such as Eritrea, Burkina Faso, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Lesotho have started the process.
