17th Ordinary Session of the Summit of the African Union

The 17^th Ordinary Session of the Summit of the African Union is scheduled to take place as follows:

Dates:                        23 June to 1^st July 2011.

Venue:                     Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea;

Theme:                   The theme of the Summit is: “Accelerating Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Development”

Specific dates for the meetings of the different AU organs during the Summit will be as follows:

23-24 June 2011:                   22^nd Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC);

26-28 June 2011:                   19^th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council

30 June - 1 July 2011:           17^th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union.
