Nepad agency CEO Ibrahim Mayaki provides a status on how far African countries are with delivering on their pledge to allocate 10% of their revenue to agriculture development. February 23 – The New Partnership for Africa’s Development plans to add as much as 14,000 megawatts to Africa’s energy grid by 2020 through it’s Programme for Infrastructure Development. While some projects are underway, Nepad is still looking for investors to raise 68 billion dollars in order to meet this deadline. The initiative has 15 priority energy projects including hydroelectric power and transnational oil and gas pipelines that will improve energy penetration across the continent.
