Chad has exponentially increased the size of irrigated areas from its value of the year 2000.
A Strategic Investment Programme (SIP) was established to upscale sustainable land and water management (SLWM) practices. It specifically supports communities and producer organisations in increasing the production of selected crops and livestock species.
The country is also currently receiving support of USD34.26 million from the Sahel and West Africa Program (SAWAP), specifically aimed at addressing land degradation and desertification, boosting food security, and supporting communities to adapt to climate change.
