In the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, funds were disbursed to assist with economic empowerment projects in the areas of Economic and social empowerment of young girls, capacity building Parliamentary institutions to ensure gender mainstreaming, Vocational skills training, Obstetric Fistula, Organising advocacy/consultative forums, Women’s Economic Support, Supporting asset building for poverty eradication among women, Protection and Advancement of African Women’s Rights and Fund-raising and grant-making initiative to support African women’s movements.

The organisations that implemented the projects in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia include, LIVE-Addis (Addis Ethiopian Residents Charity), IAG (Inter-Africa Group), GSTC (The Good Samaritan Training Centre), Women for Women Foundation Incorporated (Trampled Rose Incorporated), CAWEE (Centre for African Women Economic Empowerment), HUNDEE Oromo Grassroots Development Initiative, AFFRO (African Women Foundation), Equality Now and AWDF (African Women’s Development Fund). In total, 25643 women and men were reached in the advancement of women rights and gender equality and human rights.
