In the Republic of Rwanda Funds were disbursed towards supporting five projects on enhancing the capacity of women to increase job security, women in informal cross-border trade, empowering women through cooperative development, coordination of regional activities in support of women involved in cross-border informal trade and popularisation, ratification and domestication of the African Union Protocol on rights of women.

The organisations that were supported the Republic of Rwanda include ARECO (Association Rwandaise des Ecologistes), MINICOM (Ministry of Trade and Industry), FIOM (Future In Our Minds), CEPGL (La Communauté Economique des Pays des Grands Lacs) and Equality Now. In total, 7311 women and men were reached through the advancement of women rights and gender equality and human rights projects.
