Republic of Senegal

Amount disbursed 100,000 Euros

Overview

The National Programme for Multifunctional Platforms to Combat Poverty (PN-PTFM), sought the improvement of working conditions for rural Senegalese women. It entailed the development and implementation of 5 economic micro-projects to construct workshops housing 5 agri-processing plants; strengthening the technical and organisational skills of rural women in Senegal through training and motivation sessions; and strengthening their economic power through access to micro-credit sources. The project addressed the aspirations set out in the African Union's Agenda 2063, where development is people-driven, with the potential of women and youth unleashed.
