The NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency regrets to announce, with profound shock and sorrow, the sudden demise of Prof. Firmino G. MUCAVELE, Mozambican national and former Chief Executive Officer of the NEPAD Secretariat.  Prof. Mucavele who served as Chief Executive Officer from August 2005 to January 2008, passed on in Johannesburg on 19 May 2016  at the age of 59.

On this grievous occasion, the Dr. Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, Chief Executive Officer of the NEPAD Agency and Staff wish to convey to the Government and People of Mozambique, as well as to the bereaved family their heartfelt and deepest condolences.

May his Soul rest in eternal peace.
