NEPAD Agency signs Aide-memoire with Sustainable Infrastructure Foundation

The NEPAD Agency’s Regional Integration and Infrastructure and Trade Programme has signed an aide-memoire with the Sustainable Infrastructure Foundation (SIF). The signing ceremony which took place on 12th December 2017, took place on the sidelines of the third PIDA Week currently convened in Swakopmund, Namibia.

The aide-memoire is a precursor to the eventual signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.

This cooperation, once established, will allow NEPAD Agency and SIF to exchange knowledge and experience on infrastructure project preparation standards and Infrastructure data management. The partnership will be implemented from NEPAD Agency’s side through the PIDA Service Delivery Mechanism (SDM) under RIITP and the SOURCE platform under SIF.

The SDM is an instrument that tackles the lack of technical and financial capacity during the project preparation phase of infrastructure projects via technical advisory in order to give initial momentum to PIDA projects to be channeled through the project preparation cycle.

SOURCE is a joint global initiative from Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and Private-public Partners for addressing the global infrastructure gap and advancing the United Nations sustainable development agenda, by delivering on well-prepared projects.
