New Ambassador of Japan to South Africa pays courtesy visit to NEPAD

 

The new Ambassador of Japan to South Africa, Shigeyuki Hiroki paid today a courtesy visit to the NEPAD Agencywhere he met with NEPAD CEO Dr Ibrahim Mayaki.

Dr Mayaki briefed the Ambassador on the work of the NEPAD Agency and its programmes and projects. The CEO focused in particular on the rationale behind Agenda 2063 and the role NEPAD plays in the implementation of Africa’s new transformation agenda. The briefing was made in view of a Public Private Policy Dialogue hosted by the Japanese Embassy in South Africa next week, in which NEPAD will give a presentation on Agenda 2063.

Ambassador Hiroki was pleased with the outcomes of the meeting and highlighted that “NEPAD is the brain behind Africa’s development”. 

The meeting will be followed by a courtesy visit to the NEPAD offices of 10 Japanese Ambassadors tomorrow.
