Setting the tone for the Dakar Financing Summit

The Dakar Financing Summit for Africa’s Infrastructure will take place on June 14 and 15. Hosted by President Macky Sall of Senegal, who is also Chairperson of the NEPAD Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee (HSGOC) the Summit aims to accelerate the mobilisation of both domestic and international financial support for the implementation of the high impact regional infrastructure projects in Africa.

NEPAD is been a key organiser of the Summit to which CEO Dr Mayaki  will lead a delegation that will make presentations, interactions and draw up key decisions on the future of Africa’s infrastructural growth. The preparatory team is already on the ground in Dakar and has been setting the tone through meetings, logistics arrangements and media liaison.

Mr Abdoul Salam Bello, Coordinator in the Office of CEO, gave an  interview to PressAfrik, one of Senegal’s leading News Agencies to explain the link between infrastructure development and poverty reduction as well as wealth creation for Africa’s citizens.

Dakar Summit highlights the need to scale-up Africa’s domestic financial resource mobilisation and will provide a unique high-level platform to convene and engage African leaders, business-persons, regulators and policy makers on specific aspects that have hampered the roll out of transformative regional projects across the continent.
