South Korean delegation visits NEPAD

On Friday the 10th of October a South Korean Foreign Affairs delegation visited the NEPAD Agency for talks on cooperation with the Agency.

The four-member delegation, was received by Prof. Richard Mkandawire, Head of the Partnerships, Resource Mobilisation and Communications Directorate.

The delegation included the following members of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade: Kwang-Hyun Koh, a Research Fellow; Dr. Seonjou Kang, Associate Professor and Dr. Jae-Nam Ko a Director at the Institute. Accompaning them was Son Kyung-bae a Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in South Africa.

During the meeting, the delegation was briefed on NEPAD's integration into the African Union and also on the work being done in areas such as infrastructure, capacity development, governance and agriculture.

The delegation expressed interest in forging closer economic and political ties with African countries by focusing on those areas where NEPAD is taking leadership.

Issues of skills transfer and knowledge sharing where also discussed particularly within the context of South-to-South Cooperation.
