Video - What is the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency?

In 2001 African leaders adopted the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) to promote poverty eradication, the promotion of sustainable growth and development and the empowerment of women. This is made possible through building partnerships at country, regional and global levels. NEPAD is a programme of the African Union.

Now, for the first time, an African regional initiative has been institutionalised to establish a development agency within the African Union family – the NEPAD Agency. This Agency will implement the African Union development agenda.
