You are welcome to Zambia, President Sata

Zambian President Michael Sata has extended an invitation to the NEPAD CEO Dr Mayaki to visit Zambia soon, so that he can see for himself how the Government is implementing comprehensive programmes to move agricultural growth from the urban to rural areas.

Speaking during a courtesy call on him by Dr Mayaki at the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, President Sata said that Zambia was keen on transforming the rural areas and not concentrate development only in the cities. Dr Mayaki presented to the President,  evidenced based Atlas on Rural development produced by the NEPAD Agency, and an important scientific tool to transformation of Africa’s rural areas.

The CEO explained that NEPAD was working quite intensely in Zambia and requested the Government’s support in ensuring that concrete results in Agriculture were achieved.
