This report provides transport demand estimations for the short, medium and long term, at continental and regional level. The report identifies the existing infrastructure status, efficiency and gaps in the road, rail, river and air transport systems; which form the foundation for planned developments and the expected efficiency gains. Chapter 1 of the report summarises The Africa Transport Outlook 2040. The Strategic Framework for Transport and Infrastructure Development Programme are presented in Chapters 2 and 3.
