In the Republic of Burundi, funds were disbursed towards supporting projects on the protection and advancement of African women’s rights, promotion of a culture of peace, and the coordination of regional activities in cross-border informal trade.

The projects that were supported in the Republic of Burundi include; Equality Now, LANOVA (Ligue Africaine Pour La Non-Violence Active) and CEPGL (La Communauté Economique des Pays des Grands Lacs). In total, 1484 women and men were reached in the advancement of women rights and gender equality and human rights.
