H.E. Mme. Josefa Sacko

African Union Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture

H.E Josefa Sacko, an Angolan National, has been commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture since February 2017. She is a leading African Agronomist. On 23 December 2016, H.E Sacko was nominated as Executive Administrator on the Administrative Council of the Funds for Agriculture Development.

She is Special Adviser to two Ministers in Angola, her home country:

• The Angolan Minister of Environment where she also serves as Ambassador responsive for climate change.
• In the Department of the Minister of Agriculture, H.E Sacko oversees food security, Eradication of Hunger and Poverty Reduction.

H.E Sacko, ran the Inter-African coffee organization (IACO) for 13 years in Côte D’ Ivoire, where she represented the coffee economy of 25 Africa Coffee producing countries. The Former Secretary General of the Inter-African Coffee Organization (IACO) is also special Adviser to the Vice-President of the Panafrican Woman Organization for the Southern African Region. She also worked as a consultant in National Angolan Investment Agency (ANIP).
